Big Deluxe

This unique beer features a massive wall of flavor and is so dark it actually absorbs light – at least we think it does!

This deeply rich and complex Russian Style Imperial Stout is brewed with no less than 10 different malts, resulting in the formation of a mammoth, T-Rex sized backbone.

We brewed this one with oats to add an additional layer of silkinessto make this a truly amazing beer. Sip slowly with a friend and enjoy the rich flavors. While the ABV clocks in at 12.2%, the finish is roasty and rich with no heat.

Hellion

Our interpretation of a Belgian style Golden
Ale is delightfully approachable and utterly
devious. Brewed with the finest Belgian 2-row
malt and a blend of traditional and new-world
hops, it has extraordinary fruity and spicy
aromas with mouth filling flavors of sweet
malt and earthy hops.

The lingering finish is
dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Extra Red

We tend to do things a little differently here at Ritual, so when the call came in to make a new style Red ale, we immediately deferred to the full-flavored segment of the taste spectrum. We certainly didn’t skimp on the malts (after all, we used eight different varieties), giving this beer a multi-layered complexity of caramel and toffee.

Balancing out the malty backbone required hops, hops and even a few more hops. The result is a rich, layered, full-bodied beer bringing together a classically complex malt backbone with an assertive West Coast finish.

Monk’s Lunch

While most savvy beer consumers have heard of Belgian Dubbels, Tripels and Quadruples, few have ever had a Belgian-style Enkel, meaning “Single”. This is an ale rarely, if ever, brewed on the West Coast, let alone America.

Typically, Monk’s Lunch is brewed only at Trappist Monasteries for the monks to enjoy with meals. They often drink only half a bottle with lunch and the rest with supper, despite the beer’s low alcohol content. This beer is modest in strength, robed in warm, golden hues and soft on the palate with a smooth, dry finish.

Wit’s End

Gold Medal  - 2013 CA State Fair Craft Beer Competition

Ritual’s take on the classic Belgian style Witbier. We begin with the finest Belgian 2-row malt along with unmalted wheat and barley for a truly authentic and complex base. We then spice it up with a dose of orange zest from our local orange groves, coriander and other spices. The result is a hazy, light-colored beer that is crowned with a long-lasting foam collar leaving a distinctive “Brussels Lace” on the inside of the glass.

The delightful citrus nose and refreshing nature of this soft and supple beer quenches the thirst while gently scrubbing away the issues of the day. This beer stands alone as a wonderful session beer and also pairs well with lighter fare such as seafood, orange chicken, salads and sunny days.

Little Oat

Aptly described as the ‘little brother’ to our hard-hitting Imperial Oat Stout, Little Oat is a small beer made from the second runnings of our Big Deluxe mash. Clocking in at only 4.5% ABV, this small beer has an amazingly nuanced gathering of flavors given its heritage. Small beers were once a common brewing method closely marked in beer history — Shakespeare himself mentioned small beers in his sixteenth century writings. This beer will only be brewed on a limited basis so get it while it’s here!

Brown Ale

This robust, dark brown ale gets its rich flavor from eight different malts and two types of hops. The addition of toasted oats gives Ritual’s Brown Ale an incredible smoothness and quaffability.

Hop-O-Matic

From the sharp aromatics of citrusy pine that permeates your nostrils to the hefty malt backbone, Hop-O-Matic will slice and dice its way through your palate! But wait, there’s more! This refreshing India Pale Ale highlights the avid appreciation we have of the finer, bold nuances of our little green friends by imparting a delightfully playful nose and even livelier mouthfeel.

A herbaceously spicy, pungent, and dank brew. This fragrant beer imparts an initial blast of bitterness that gives way to sweet, toasty malts and a zesty citrus profile, then takes it up ten notches with a complex mélange of hops that won’t go down without a fight. What can we say? We’re proud of this one.

Fat Hog

Silver Medal – 2013 CA State Fair Craft Beer Competition

Our Barleywine Style Ale boasts a dense, fruity bouquet, an intense flavor palate and a deep reddish-brown color. Its big malty flavors are superbly balanced by a wonderfully bittersweet hoppiness. This beer ages very well developing complex sherry like notes.

Art of Dankness

Hops for our Double IPA are hand-selected from the superlative new generation of U.S. varieties. Glorious earthy aromas recall forest walks after a rain.
